Blackfoot, ID – One Killed, Two Hurt in Accident on I-15 near Exit 89

Blackfoot, ID (August 9, 2025) – An early morning collision on Interstate 15 near Exit 89, just south of Blackfoot, left one woman dead and two others hospitalized on August 8. The crash occurred around 5 a.m. in the left southbound lane.

Idaho State Police reported that a 2015 Buick Verano, driven by a 21-year-old man from Idaho Falls, struck the rear of a 2012 Chrysler Town and Country van operated by an 80-year-old man from Brocket, Alberta, Canada. The van’s passenger, an 81-year-old woman, suffered critical injuries and was transported by ground ambulance to a nearby hospital, where she later passed away.

The driver of the Chrysler and the driver of the Buick were both taken to the hospital for treatment. Authorities noted that all individuals involved were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. Both vehicles came to rest in the median following the impact.
