Pocatello, ID – Two Killed in Fatal Crash Involving Semi-Truck and Pickup on I-15
Pocatello, ID (October 22, 2025) – A devastating two-vehicle collision on Interstate 15 claimed the lives of two people on Tuesday morning, October 21, between Fort Hall and Pocatello, severely disrupting northbound traffic in the area.
According to Idaho State Police Sgt. Teresa McClure, the crash involved a Peterbilt semi-truck and a Ford F-450 flatbed pickup, both traveling north. Preliminary reports indicate the Ford veered off the roadway and overturned. The semi-truck driver, a 75-year-old man from McCammon, was wearing a seatbelt and escaped without serious injury.
Tragically, the pickup’s driver—a 42-year-old man from Rupert—and his passenger, a 44-year-old man from Paul, both died at the scene. Authorities confirmed that neither individual was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Emergency responders worked for hours to clear the wreckage and reroute traffic around the scene, causing significant delays for northbound commuters.
Our deepest sympathies go out to the families of the two men who lost their lives in this tragic accident. Idaho State Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash and are urging motorists to use caution and always wear seatbelts while driving.
