Cedar City, UT – Serious Multi-Vehicle Crash Closes I-15 N Near MP 54

Iron County, UT (October 21, 2025) – On October 19, a serious multi-vehicle crash caused significant delays on Interstate 15 northbound, just a few miles south of Cedar City, according to the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT).

The crash occurred near milepost 54, prompting officials to close all northbound lanes around 7:55 p.m. Drivers were directed to use Exit 51 as an alternate route. At the same time, emergency crews responded to the scene. Traffic remained backed up for several hours as responders worked to clear debris and assist those involved.

According to the Utah Highway Patrol (UHP), the crash was described as “serious” and involved multiple vehicles. However, officials have not yet confirmed the number of people injured or the circumstances leading up to the collision. All lanes were reopened to traffic around 11 p.m.

UHP continues to investigate the cause of the crash and reminds motorists to drive cautiously, especially at night and in high-traffic areas.
