Oceanside, CA – Semi-Truck and SUV Crash on I-15 N/Citracado Leaves Injuries

Oceanside, CA (September 8, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck and a red SUV on northbound I-15 near Citracado resulted in injuries on Monday morning, September 8. The California Highway Patrol reported that the red SUV overturned multiple times after colliding with the semi-truck, blocking two to three lanes of traffic. Responding officers closed the number 4 and number 5 lanes while tow crews worked to remove the wreckage.

At least one injured individual was transported to a local hospital for further medical evaluation. Traffic cameras from District 11 showed significant congestion in the area as emergency responders worked to secure the scene. By mid-morning, all lanes had been reopened after cleanup operations were completed. The CHP continues to investigate what caused the crash, including whether speed or driver distraction may have been factors.
