Cajon Pass, CA – Two-Car Crash w/ Injuries on I-15 near Switchbacks Area
Cajon Pass, CA (August 2, 2025) — A two-vehicle collision disrupted the northbound lanes of Interstate 15 early Tuesday morning near the notorious “Switchbacks” area in San Bernardino County.
The crash was reported around 6:22 a.m. and involved a black BMW 335 and a red sedan, both of which came to rest in the center divider following the impact. Though the vehicles sustained moderate damage and were reportedly still operable, the force of the collision prompted an emergency response.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), at least one individual at the scene complained of whiplash and requested medical evaluation. Emergency crews responded promptly, arranging transport for the injured party to receive additional care. Tow trucks were also dispatched to assist with vehicle removal from the divider area.
Despite the relatively minor nature of the crash, the response underscored the potential risks of traffic in this heavily traveled and often tricky stretch of I-15. By 7:23 a.m., the scene had been fully cleared, and the incident was officially closed by the Freeway Service Patrol.
We send our well wishes to the injured and hope for a smooth recovery.
