Temecula, CA – Four Killed in Collision on I-15 near Winchester Rd
Temecula, CA (August 23, 2025) – Four people lost their lives in a fiery crash on Interstate 15 late Saturday night, August 24, when a BMW crossed the center divider and struck another vehicle head-on, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The wreck occurred around 9:30 p.m. just north of the Winchester Road exit. Investigators say a black BMW M4 was traveling northbound on I-15 at high speed and driving recklessly before veering sharply to the left. The car vaulted over the concrete median into the southbound lanes, colliding with a white Nissan Sentra.
The impact caused the BMW to erupt in flames. Inside the vehicle were a 25-year-old Moreno Valley man behind the wheel, a 23-year-old woman in the passenger seat, and two teenagers—ages 14 and 15—in the back. The woman and both teens died at the scene. Good Samaritans managed to pull the driver from the burning car; he suffered major injuries and was rushed to the hospital.
The Nissan’s driver, a 35-year-old Wildomar man, was critically injured and died while being transported to the hospital. His passenger, a 22-year-old man, remains hospitalized in critical condition, authorities said.
CHP officials confirmed alcohol was not believed to be involved, but the crash is under active investigation. Charges against the BMW driver are pending.
