Salt Lake City, UT – Fatal Crash on I-15 N Near North Temple
Salt Lake City, UT (September 10, 2025) – A deadly crash forced a full closure of I-15 northbound near North Temple on Wednesday morning.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol, the collision occurred when a red Jeep rear-ended a black Ford near the on-ramp from I-80 to I-15. The impact left both vehicles blocking the right-most lanes.
The driver of the Jeep died at the scene. Their identity has not yet been released. The condition of the Ford driver remains unknown.
The crash caused significant traffic delays, with backups stretching five miles on northbound I-15 and about a mile on westbound I-80. Authorities closed the I-80 on-ramp to I-15, as well as northbound I-15 at 600 South, while emergency crews worked at the scene. By 9:00 a.m., the left three lanes, including the HOV lane, were reopened to traffic.
